Annual General Meeting 2025

You are welcome to attend the Annual General Meeting for U3A Pine Rivers Inc.

Come along to a happy afternoon and meet the new committee members.

Forms to nominate for the Management Committee are available at the reception at U3A Pine Rivers Centre, Kallangur.  You can also download the Committee Nomination form, then scan or take a photo of the completed form and email to admin@u3apinerivers.org.au.

Nominations close on Wednesday 12 March 2025.

COACH TRIPS

PLANNED COACH TRIPS

There are currently no planned coach trips.

Keep an eye on our half-yearly Newsletter, Monthly Update and on the noticeboard at the U3A Pine Rivers Centre, where the upcoming Coach Trips are advertised. 

After eight years of her excellent researching, planning and conducting these happy, successful day trips, Marilyn Mavin has decided it is time to step down from the Coach Trip Coordinator role. Her meticulous attention to all aspects of these activities is very much appreciated.

COACH TRIPS – HOW TO PARTICIPATE

• Book with the Coach Trips Coordinator, Marilyn Mavin at trips@u3apinerivers.org.au or Marilyn's mobile is in your Newsletter and Monthly Update.
  • Book early to avoid disappointment.
  • No coach trip bookings are taken at the U3A Centre but payments may be made there.
• Special Dietary requirements can only be catered for if advised at the time of booking.
• Pay at least 16 days before the trip unless otherwise stated. Please see Payments page.
• If cancelling, notify the Coach Trips Coordinator, Marilyn Mavin, by calling or texting as soon as possible.
  • If you find that you need to cancel after you have paid, we will make every effort to fill the vacancy with someone from the waiting list, providing sufficient notice is given, or reduce the numbers at the venue.
  • A refund of monies paid should then be possible.

CHECK-LIST for TRIP DAY:

• Leave off perfumed products.
• Wear your U3A Pine Rivers membership badge.
• Comply with current COVID advice and please bring a pen.
• U3A trips leave from Strathpine Shopping Centre Bus Interchange (Dixon Street side).
• Be there at least by the nominated time for processing so you are not left behind.
• Report to the Coordinator (person with the clipboard) as soon as you arrive at the Bus Interchange.
• During the day, listen to and follow the instructions from the Coordinator and the Driver.

As many of our members are sensitive to perfumed products, especially within an enclosed space, we request that you consider the well-being of fellow passengers and refrain from using such products on trip day. Thank you.

Jesus Christ Superstar

The iconic global phenomenon, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, arrives at QPAC from June with a mesmerising new production that has received unprecedented acclaim and accolades during its US and UK tours, including an Olivier Award for Best Musical Revival.

This must-see musical will feature one of Australia’s most well-respected musicians and acclaimed recording artist,  Michael Paynter as Jesus, the dynamic musical theatre star Javon King as Judas and soul and blues powerhouse, Mahalia Barnes, as Mary. Globally renowned comedian, singer, and writer Reuben Kaye will play Herod and rock theatrical star Peter Murphy plays Pilate.

Sister Act - BOOKINGS ARE NOW CLOSED

The global smash hit musical sent from above, is coming to the Lyric Theatre.  Based on the film, which quickly became a global phenomenon, Sister Act is set to light up our theatres and lift our spirits with its irresistible energy and joy!

Starring Casey Donovan as Deloris Van Cartier, Genevieve Lemon as Mother Superior and Rhonda Burchmore as Sister Mary Lazarus

There are 23 seats available in Balcony 1.  Ticket cost is $69.90 for Concession [ Pensioners] and $99.90 for Adults.
Book and pay U3A before 6 December 2024.  Payment Code is TH7.  No late payments can be accepted.

PROCEDURES FOR THEATRE OUTINGS’ BOOKINGS

BOOKINGS:

Bookings can be made by telephoning Yvonne (phone number is in your Newsletter or In the Loop) or at theatre@u3apinerivers.org.au

No bookings can be made at the U3A Centre Kallangur, only payments.

PAYMENTS:

Please ensure you have booked first. A TH or B number and payment date is attached to the information for the outing.

CANCELLATIONS:

Cancellations cannot be made after you have paid. If you find you are unable to go, please notify Yvonne who may have a waiting list or may be able to find someone to buy your ticket. It is preferable that your ticket goes to another U3A Pine Rivers member.

TRANSPORT:

There are two options apart from driving yourself. Bus number 345 departs from the Aspley Hypermarket at 15-minute intervals. For trains from your most convenient location, check the Translink website.
